Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Martin Luther King
Kim provides consultation services for mental health treatment. Her primary area of consultation expertise is in Eating Disorders.
Eating Disorders are a complex and life threatening health condition. With society’s focus on the thin ideal, many are at risk for eating and body image concerns. Treatment for eating disorders is expensive and time consuming. Parents, educators, and health care providers are often unsure when and how to intervene when they are concerned about potential eating disorder symptoms. Children, in particular, may present with eating disorder warning signs, yet seem too young for therapeutic intervention. While early diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders offers the best prognosis for a full recovery, consultation with a professional can provide clarity and guidance without exposing a child to the unnecessary stress of appointments before they are needed or ready. Some children will require therapy, but often a family can benefit and make significant positive change through coaching and educating parents on how to most effectively address eating, body image, and related concerns. Consultation helps guide and educate families on the variety of treatment options available and clarify which path is clinically appropriate and viable.
Kim offers consultation for eating disorders and other mental health concerns for:

Consultation sessions are provided in Kim’s office in Ashland, Oregon or via Skype for distance consultation. Kim is also available for out of office consultation at schools and agencies.
